This is the modified Brompton factory 2/6-speed chain tensioner for use with the Sturmey Archer X-RF8 wheelset.
The factory tensioner is modified in 2 ways:
- The mounting base is trimmed to allow for shift lever clearance,
- The lateral reach of jockey pulleys are increased to accommodate for narrower chainline
These modficiations are performed on a new Brompton 2/6 speed tensioner
If you already have a 2/6-speed chain tensioner, you are welcome to modify your own based on the photos. You will also need longer sleeves (OD 5mm, ID 4mm) and M4 machine screws as shown in the last photos. We can also supply these. Click here.
