This wheelset is based on the BrommiePlus R001 rims, Hubsmith hubs, and Sapim Laser spokes. The R001 rim features welded joint, greater width and depth. It is also one of the lightest rims available for Brompton. The resulting wheelset offers maximum performance and weighs in at merely 870g, a saving of more than 400g over factory counterpart.
This wheelset is configured for derailleur 3/4 speed gearing by default. However, it can be configured for standard derailleur 2 speed by using a different freehub bodies, without additional cost. Should you opt for the 2 speed ready version, please leave us a note during checkout. For the 3 speed ready version, the default setup is for 11T cog application. If 10T cog application is desired, please let us know during check-out.

Note: Even though this rim is produced with hard anodizing, the braking surface will still wear and eventually expose the bare metal underneath. The time and distance it takes to wear will depend on the conditions in which the wheelset is being used. Wet and sandy conditions are known to accelerate the wear. The softer brake pads included with the wheelset will help to reduce the wear.
*Note: The R001 rims are known to be incompatible with Continental Contact Urban tires.
